Kernville Inn History

The foundations of the Kernville Inn began in the old town of Kernville prior to the development of the Lake Isabella Dam. Some of the original buildings were moved prior to the lake filling and placed in their current location. The original building was moved in three sections and reassembled as the building currently facing North on our front courtyard. The other buildings have been added over the years and serval renovations have taken place since.
The Kernville in is a family oriented roadside motel in the style of the motor lodges of yore. The Kernville Inn is in the heart of Kernville just steps away from the Kern River. We are a great location to launch your adventures into the Sequoia National Forest for fishing, hiking, biking, wildflower viewing, white-water rafting or kayaking and of course, relaxing. Lake Isabella is only a few minutes’ drive away and offers two full-service marinas. The town of Kernville has many antique and curiosity shops as well as several options for dining including a local brewery.
